Wednesday Morning Bird & Nature Walks
With Stan & Joan DeOrsey

The Stanton Bird Club is pleased to announce a series of Summer Guided
Bird Walks in the Lewiston / Auburn area. Walks will be conducted at a
variety of interesting and diverse local habitats. All walks are free
and open to everyone, beginning naturalist to advanced birder. Anyone
interested in walking, seeing new places, fresh air, and nature is welcomed.

Walks will be led by Stan and Joan DeOrsey, who will identify and
provide background commentary on birds seen and heard. Susan Hayward,
Thorncrag naturalist, will share her knowledge, especially on plants.

following dates:


June 4 Papermill & Ricker Farm Trails, Lisbon, for spring migrants, fully paved

June 18 Alexander-Harkins Preserve, Auburn, for field & woodland residents.

July 2 Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary, Lewiston for woodland residents

July 16 Beaver Park, Lisbon, for summer residents

July 30 Packard-L ittlefield Farm, Lisbon, for grassland and field residents

August 13 St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lewiston, for post-breeding flocks

August 27 Whitman Spring Road Trail, Auburn, for early fall migrants

Dec. 19 St. Peter's Cemetery, Lewiston for winter visitants

Meeting Location: Except on Aug. 27, walks leave at 8AM from the Staples parking lot,
855 Lisbon St., Lewiston, to be at the walk site at 8:20AM. Only the Aug. 27 walk leaves
from the JC Penney’s parking lot, Auburn Mall, 550 Center St. at 8AM.

* Walks end by 11am, but you may leave early.
* If raining or snowing at 7am and predicted to continue through 10am,
the walk is canceled.
* Bring binoculars and dress for the weather; layers work very well.
* Walks are approximately 2 miles on an even and basically dry surface.
