Ten people took advantage of the January Thaw weather to attend the trip the Reid State Park. It was cloudy in the morning, with breaks of sun, and little or no wind, which made for a very pleasant outing. Large numbers of Horned Grebes, and good sized rafts of Long-tailed Ducks made for good viewing. Two highlights of the morning were a fly-by of a young Bald Eagle, which put most of the ducks in the air, and some very amusing courtship behavior by the Red-breasted Mergansers.
