THE JUNIOR NATURALIST PROGRAM

Juniors pose for a photo at Thorncrag during a break from learning about bugs.

The Junior Naturalist Program is an afterschool program for
students in grades 3-5. On Thursdays (see dates below), students meet
at the entrance to Montello Elementary School (407 East Ave., Lewiston,
Maine), at 2:45 PM. We walk up to the gate of Thorncrag for an hour
program covering a broad range of seasonal natural history topics
including forest ecology, wetlands, veranl pools, tracking, mammals,
bridwatching, wildflowers, insects, fungi, soils, geology, orienteering,
and astronomy.

Registration Fee: $15/child, covers cost of membership and all supplies/materials for the year
