Collections of the Maine Historical Society
Decorated in native design by Mollyockett, and given to Eli Twitchell (1759-1845) of Bethel about 1785, this European-style folding pocket-book displays a silver hasp dated 1778. The exterior is completely covered with false embroidery using natural and dyed moose hair over a heavy cord foundation.
