Quartz Arrow Point
"The point is quatrz and about 1" 1/2 on the base and almost 2" long. It is very, very thin and the flaking is beautiful. I found it on a very special beach that I have been exploring since I was a child ... several points have been found in this area but never one so finely crafted. It was in a foot of water when I saw it and I was thrilled. The Great Spirit gave me a gift that day. (summer 97)"

NOTES: Identified as a Levanna projectile point from the mid to late Woodland period (approx. 500 AD to 1500 AD). This period is sometimes referred to as the Ceramic Period. These points are triagular, equilateral to isosceles in form, commonly made of locally available quartzite and occasionally of various cherts. It is believed they are arrow points rather than spear points.
