- Other Notes: Francois (Basil?) was granted land at Durham in 1805. F. Basil appears on the Odanak roster of 1812 veterans with heirs in 1844. Bazile Basil in named in 1829 census. Francois, Jacques, and Stanislas appear on the 1822 Census.
Joachim Basil, heir of Francois' Durham Land appears to be a Taksus. [NL 00] The children of Francois Brisebois are also heirs of Francois. More research is needed to determine what the relationship is.
In 1831 a child named Basile was baptized at Drummondville, son of Antoine Metallac. Antoine Metallac is believed to be the son of Metallic.

- Other Notes: In 1759 Capt. Benedict hunted for Wolfe's army, his sonSabael(Francois Xavier) was with him, aged 12 at the time. Sabael was a well known guide in the Adirondacks and was still living in 1853. Benedic served in Jacob Bayley's American company during the Revolution. In 1796 Capt. Benedic signed the Bedel Deed.
R., P.N., & P.F. Benedict appear on the Odanak roster of 1812 veterans with heirs in 1844.
Edwin Benedict was a missionary to Leech Lake Band of Chippewa.

The Jacobi family are descendants of Jacobi Bernard.

- Other Notes: Francois Brisebois appears on the Odanak roster of 1812 veterans with heirs in 1844. His son, also Francois Brisebois, changed his name to Frank Wood and moved to the US.
The family names appears in St. Francis church records from the early 1700's. However, the only certain connection we have is through the two Francois' that m. Abenaki women and Michel Dubois 'Sauvage' that married at St. Francois in 1757. The elder Francois (s/o Antoine & Agnes), m. Marie Josephte Annance and Marie Ann Portneuf. He d. abt 1823. His son, Francois Xavier, was living with the younger Charles Chouaganne in 1841. He is listed in 1844 as absent 2 years. He m. 1844 Anastasie Obomsawine. She died between 1857 & 1861. This Francois Xavier appears to be the man that m. Marie Eulalie Phaneuf at Coopersville NY in 1859 and started a 2nd family using the surnames Dubois & Wood. The children of his 1st marriage are living with relatives at Odanak in 1861.
The children of Francois Brisebois (probably the first one of this name) are listed as heirs to the Durham land of Francois Basil.
