We are indebted to the late Gordon Day, who spent much of his life researching the people of Odanak. The bulk of his research was published in 1981 as The Identity of the Saint Francis Indians: Paper 71 Canadian Ethnology Service, National Museums of Canada and is sited frequently in our material as [Day 1981].

The following Friends of Ne-Do-Ba have shared their knowledge and research Our primary sources are published marriage records from Quebec parishes, vital records from St.Francois-du-lac; Catholic Church 1796-1805, Protestant church records, and Census data.

Additional materials used to compile these family notes are: the Roster of 1812 veterans with heirs in 1844, the 1805 Durham Grant documents, miscellaneous documents which contain names, a variety of published books, our own research on certain families, some Maliseet & Penobscot records, and our research on western Maine families who may have Abenaki connections.
