Marsden Hartley
Cultural Center

The Marsden Hartley Cultural Center is changing the way we think about the Library.  New performance, meeting and archive spaces, together with a state-of-the-art computer lab, expand the Library's traditional book and electronic resources into exciting new avenues for cultural and historic exploration.

The center is named for Marsden Hartley (1877-1943), Lewiston's famous native son and renowned artist/poet.  Hartley is one of the top American painters of the 20th Century and his works can be viewed in museums around the world
